Every dish at Taaza is made to order using fresh ingredients and time-honored techniques, no shortcuts, and no compromises. Whether you're craving a comforting classic or curious to try something new, Taaza is a place to explore the depth and diversity of Indian cuisine in a warm, contemporary setting.

Meet Yasin: The Vision Behind Taaza Bistro

Originally from Chennai, India, Yasin is the founder and owner of Taaza Bistro, inspired by his passion for South Indian cuisine and a desire to share it authentically in North Carolina.

After earning a degree in Hotel Management and Culinary Arts, Yasin worked on cruise ships and later as a chef in U.S. restaurants before settling in Burlington. Missing the bold, fresh flavors of home, he opened the first Taaza Bistro to bring that authenticity to the local scene.

When guests began traveling from Greensboro to dine at Taaza, Yasin opened a second location there. Now, with a loyal following in the Clemmons and Winston-Salem area, he’s launching a third location to meet growing demand.

At Taaza, everything is made fresh to order, with no shortcuts or heat lamps. This reflects Yasin’s roots and commitment to quality. His favorite dishes are Biryani and his mother’s yogurt rice, which he’s still trying to perfect.

Mohan Chinnathambi: Partner Greensboro

Mohan Chinnathambi, originally from Madurai in Tamil Nadu, India, brings a deep-rooted passion for Indian cuisine to Taaza Bistro. A graduate of culinary school in India, Mohan began his career as a chef and management trainee in hotels and resorts across the country before moving to the U.S.

He first managed restaurants at Royal India in Raleigh, NC, where he met Yasin. After a stint in Austin, TX, Mohan returned to North Carolina with Yasin to co-found Taaza Bistro in Greensboro. They were drawn to the city’s diverse community and saw an opportunity to introduce authentic South Indian cuisine to a broader audience.

Mohan’s culinary curiosity drives him to constantly explore regional dishes from across India, bringing new flavors and rotating specials to the Taaza menu. His vision: to create a dining experience that’s both rooted in tradition and open to discovery.
